Today is Boss’s Day.  Whether you are the boss, love your boss, or despise your boss… this day comes every year.  I proudly work at Indianapolis Fruit Company & thought I would use this holiday as an opportunity to better inform my followers about my employer, IF&P Foods.

Indianapolis Fruit Company has been a family owned business since 1947.  We have grown to include a fleet of over 150 refrigerated trucks, a distribution network spanning 14 states, three facilities totaling over 200,000 square feet of warehouse space, and more than 500 years of produce experience.  In 1997, Indianapolis Fruit combined operations with another Indianapolis-based produce company, Piazza Produce. Today, the sister companies work together to provide both the food service and retail industries with fruit, vegetable, dairy, floral and an array of specialty products.  Piazza handles food service distribution while all retail distribution is done out of the Indianapolis Fruit facility.  Piazza’s line of specialty products includes gourmet cheeses, appetizers, spices, soup bases, and much much more – which allows us to even better service our food service accounts.  And, I can’t talk about Piazza without mentioning my friend Alex… the face of “A Fresh Experience” – check out her YouTube channel to get a better understanding of Piazza’s vast product offerings.  During this weekly web production, Piazza showcases different specialty products as well as in-season produce items.

Garden Cut is our in-house processing facility at Indy Fruit.   It is here that we prepare salad blends for restaurants, the 2oz fruit & vegetable snacks for school cafeterias, those beautiful party trays that you can conveniently purchase at your produce department, convenience items for your home kitchen such as the hamburger garnish tray or fajita mixes, and so much more…  Garden Cut is also where you will find my dear friend & colleague, Chef Concetta, researching recipes for our mobile phone app and developing new products for Garden Cut retail & food service line.  Her latest masterpiece is the exciting Garden Grillers & Stir-Fry line – look for the debut this holiday season!  I absolutely love each & every one of these new products… you will too!

The latest addition to the IF&P Family of Companies is The Produce Mom.  The Produce Mom is housed right here on this website & it is the consumer brand of Indianapolis Fruit Company.  While it is still a baby (only 9 months old) – The Produce Mom continues to provide our family of companies with opportunities to educate consumers, leverage produce sales, and connect with notable figures and organizations in the communities we service.  The Produce Mom would not exist without the support and guidance from IF&P Foods ownership as well as our collective dedication to “Produce a Fresh Experience Together!”

On this Boss Day & all the ones that lie ahead, I thank my employers for the opportunity to work in such a dynamic & fast-paced industry while representing their family business.  I look forward to work…. that’s gotta be the best compliment any boss can receive from an employee.
